The oil extracted through pressing and grinding oil seeds with the use of granite wheels or modern stainless steel presses or wooden mortar pestle churner, although pressing and grinding produces heat through friction, the temperature must not rise above 120°F (49°C) for any oil to be considered cold pressed. Cold pressed oils are produced at even lower temperatures. Usually oil extracted in Wooden Churner (Lakadi Ghana / Kachhi Ghani / Mara Chekku) is termed best amongst above types because of lowest heat generation during extraction process, roughly 4 to 5°C additional to ambient/room temperature. Cold pressed Oils are often sold as unrefined & additive free.
